“There is one body, but it has many parts. But all its many parts make up one body. It is the same with Christ.” 1 Corinthians 12:12

Hi! We’re excited you want to serve at Eastside! This page steps you through the process of how to apply to be a part of an Eastside ministry that involves serving with children. As part of joining a ministry that involves children, some forms and online training need to be completed first. As a church, we have adopted a Child Safety Policy in order to keep children in our care safe. This requires everyone serving in a ministry with children to be screened and complete the training.
If you have any questions about this process or need help, please email office@eastside.org.au we would be happy to help you out.
What this looks like?
Step 1: Serving Application Form
Below is a link to a form that helps us get to know you better. We will ask you questions about how you came to know Jesus, and areas of the church that you would like to serve.
If you have already completed this form, you can move on to step 2.
Sometimes this link brings up a login page if this happens re-click the link a second time and the form should open without an issue – you do not need to login to anything to fill out this form.
Step 2: Blue Card Application/Renewal
Do you have a blue card? And, is it up-to-date?
If you already have a valid blue card, we will still need some information from you and the link below outlines the information you will need to give us.
If you don’t have a blue card or need to renew your expiring card, you can click the same link below for steps on how to apply/renew a blue card.
If you’re under the age of 18 you do not need a blue card and can move on to step 3.
Step 3: Safe Ministry Check Online Training
Once you complete steps 1 & 2, someone from the Eastside office will create your Safe Ministry Check account. Through Safe Ministry Check you will be required to:
- complete your account registration (by adding in additional details),
- complete two online training modules – the Awareness Course & Leaders Course,
- submit a photo of your Blue Card,
- submit two character referees, and
- read and accept our Leaders Commitment (Code of Conduct).
Please keep an eye out for the Safe Ministry Check email, it may be in your spam folder.
You will also be required to keep your Blue Card details up-to-date if/when your blue card renews. This includes updating the card number, expiry date and photo.
Other Important Info
Lastly, if you are part of a ministry that uses rosters, you might also receive an email from Planning Centre Services. In that email, there will be steps on how to set up your planning centre account. In Planning Centre Services you can view when you’re rostered, and worship team members will also be able to view music and orders of service. Please refer to this document if you need help getting started with your Planning Centre Services account.
