The best place to start is with our name. First, we’re located on the east side of Brisbane in the Manly West area. Second, we’ve got community as our middle name, because the whole point of what we do is to help people from our community connect with God and each other in an authentic christian community. So at any event, you’ll find dads, mums, singles, children, young people, retirees, and grandparents meeting in large services and small community groups. Finally, we are a church, which means we’re all about Jesus – and the only way to know Jesus is to understand what the Bible says about him.

what are your service times?

We run two services each Sunday.

Sunday Mornings
8:00am – 9:15am
10:00am – 11:15am

If you’re coming to the 10am service, we encourage you to arrive from 9:15am to make the most of the coffee cart & community time.

what kind of church are you?

Eastside Community Church belongs to the Queensland Baptist family of churches. Every Sunday, around 35,000 people just like us will meet in Baptist churches throughout Queensland. If there’s still a question you have and it isn’t covered, feel free to email and we’ll do our best to answer your query.

what is there for kids?

We have a children’s program in both morning services that run during the school term. There are about 60 children in the children’s program, with 2 classes: one for creche-kindy and one for prep-grade 6. We start our church services with all the children present. They are as much a part of the church as any adult. About 1/3 of the way through the service, the kids go out with their teachers to their special program. While we aim for the children to have lots of fun, the central purpose of the children’s program is to introduce children to the good news of Jesus. See here for more details about Eastside Kids.

There is also a youth program on Friday nights for children/teenagers in grades 7-12 and a kid’s club running fortnightly on Friday nights for children in grades 1-6.

what can I expect if I visit on Sundays?

When you arrive on Sunday morning you will be welcomed by our greeting team who will give you a welcome pack. They will also help you should you have any problems or questions. The service normally begins with some singing. We have a time of prayer, a reading from the Bible, and a sermon that seeks to unpack and apply the Bible’s message to us today.
